Evidence-based practice presentation
PURPOSE: To continue students' understanding for the professionalism of nursing in the areas of communication, life-long learning, and evidence-based research provision for improved/new practices. OBJECTIVES: Students will read a preassigned a practice guideline and a supporting article prior to a clinical experience. During the experience, the student will observe and or inquire about current practices to compare and contrast to the assigned guideline. Students will share their observations and guideline findings with their clinical cohorts during the postconference period. The presentation is expected to take 5 to 10 minutes with 10 minutes being the maximum time. Students will prepare a written 3-question quiz (with copies for peers) prior to clinical based on their guideline to give to peers post-presentation. 2 or 3 student presentations will be conducted during each postconference in both the CC and OB rotations.
