Story stays on topic.	Above Standards Topic is about nature and story stays on topic. Some details are added to develop topic beyond basics.	Excellent Topic is about nature and story stays on topic. Many details are included which add to the richness of topic development.
Story Elements	Poor Few,if any, elements are included.	Below Standards Most elements are included, but not all.	Meets Standards All elements are included, but not fully developed.	Above Standards All elements are included and developed.	Excellent All elements are included and developed fully. In addition, voice is developed.
Moral of story	Poor Moral is not included in story.	Below Standards Moral is included in story, but not related to story, or must be inferred.
