iRubric: ART Art Exploration 8th Grade rubric

Multiple elements and principles were added to their print logo to create visual interest like texture, shapes, line and value. They created texture through using hatching and cross hatching to fill in spaces that are white. They added value to their work by coloring in areas white, using hatching to create medium tones, and leaving some areas black (or a plain color). They created images for their logo using shapes and lines to make symbols.

Multiple elements and principles were added to their print personal logo to create visual interest. They met the requirements, but needed to consider one of two more of the principles to fix errors like not having enough imagery in their work or not coloring in areas to have white in their print.

There were problems in their recreation artwork. 3-4 elements and principles were not considered in the making of their print logo. Their print was mostly black and they did not add enough lines to create interest in their logo print.

None of the elements or principles were thought out in creating their print logo.

Student completed the print logo and used the whole class time working on it.

Student completed the artwork on time and used most of their class time working on the project.

Needs improvement. The student got off task a few times this project which showed in their end print logo product.

Student did not work on their print logo most of the class time and was not ready to present their work to turn in on time.

1. Fill out brainstorming sheet.
2. Draw sketch on paper.
3. Transfer sketch to styrofoam.
4. Practice printing at least 5 prints with one of them being successful.
5. Cutting out their print, matting it on black paper, adding their edition (1/5), title, signature and date.

Student only met 3-4 of the objectives.

Student only met 2-3 of the objectives.

Student did not meet most of the objectives of the print personal logo.
