Use of details from the reading	OUTSTANDING Uses many details that prove a book was read and understood. Supports statements with evidence from the text. Answered all of the questions.	WOW Uses some details that show some reading and understanding was done.	S0-SO Uses few details. Entries do not completely answer the question.	OOPS No details. Entries are confusing or do not make sense.
Use of indepedent thought	OUTSTANDING Clearly proves that student is thinking about the reading. Addresses all important aspects of the question or topic.	WOW Some proof that student is thinking about the reading. Addresses most important aspects of the question or topic.	S0-SO Little proof of any independent thought. Addresses some aspects of the question or topic, but there appear to be gaps or missing parts in understanding.	OOPS No proof of any independent thought. Response is totally irrelevant or totally wrong. Made little attempt to respond.
Spelling, Mechanics, Grammar	OUTSTANDING Clear proof that the student cares about the quality of the work. Majority of words are spelled correctly; no run ons, citations are correct Someone can easily read entries.	WOW Some proof that care has been given to the writing.
