Using the Grid method

The drawing paper was divided into perfect squares. The student looked at the grid on the copy and reproduced the image exactly as seen in the copy.

Poor

Did not use the grid to place lines and features for the portrait or needed the teacher to draw the grid for the student.

Shading and other linear detail were used to enhance areas as close to the copy as possible.
