Fitness Concept Project Rubric 
Students will create game, activity or fitness routine based on the fitness concept they drew out of the hat. They may work with one other person on the project. The students will turn in an outline before being assigned a date to present their finished project to the rest of the class.

Excellent

Project is turned on or before the due date and explains the fitness concept and provides strong examples to the group.
Good

Project is turned in on or before the due date and shows some knowledge of the fitness concept but could use better examples.
Fair

Project is turned in on or before the due date, but only briefly explains the fitness concept and gives only one example.
Poor

Project is turned in late and displays little knowledge of the fitness concept and does not give a proper example. This project will need to be redone.
Presentation

Presentation of the project is complete and helps everyone else understand your fitness concept.

Excellent

Explanation was very clear and organized. Demonstration of exercise or activity was accurate and provided good examples with explanation of why the activity benefits your Fitness Concept.
Good

Explanation was clear and organized but could use better examples and or explanation of the how's and why's as they apply to your fitness concept.
Fair

Explanation was not very clear or organized but the example or activity was accurate. More explanation is needed to make the concept clear and understanding.
Poor

Explanation was not clear or organized and the accuracy is not clear enough for others to learn about your Fitness Concept. This project will need to be redone.
Research

Accuracy of Fitness Concept activity or routine is accurate and is supported with reliable web or print resources. Evidence of appropriate research is given.

Excellent

Fitness Concept is accurately explained using safe effective examples with activities and or games. Evidence is given with appropriate valid research from reliable sources is given.
Good

Explanation of the fitness concept is accurate and examples are safe and effective but appropriate valid sources are not supported.
Fair

Explanation of the fitness concept does not use valid resources and or the examples are not considered safe and effective as supported with valid research.
Poor

Properly supported explanation or examples of the fitness concept are not given. This project will need to be redone.
Participation / Use of Class Time
10 pts

Did each student give 100% to the group in creating/researching/performing in the project or activity?

Excellent

Both group members participated equally in the development and presentation of the Fitness Game or activity. Excellent us of class time was used to help complete the presentation.
Good

Both group members participated equally but better use of class time would have helped make the presentation better and more accurate.
Fair

Both members of the group did not participate equally. Proper use of class time was not always used to help make the presentation successful.
Poor

Both members of the group did not work well together and did not use class time appropriately to make the presentation successful. The project will need to be redone.
