iPad Painting 
Students studied Pop Art. After understanding Pop Art and how popular images were used they took photos of themselves or an object and altered the image using various apps on iPads. Students then painted an image using the altered photographs as inspiration.

The student did not handle the iPad safely and did not use the apps to alter a photograph.
Fair

The student played around with the iPad and did not explore the different apps to the fullest.
Good

The student used the iPad appropriately and explored how various apps altered their photo. The student then saved one image to be printed.
Transferring the Image

Poor

The student did not transfer the image carefully to the mat board. They did not take their time to think about the Elements of Art. They hurried.
Fair

The student transferred the image to the mat board, but did not put forth the 100% effort to create it neatly while thinking about the Elements of Art.
Good

The student carefully transferred the image to the mat board and thought about the Elements and Principals of Design making sure it was neat and well done.
Paint

Poor

The student did not use the paint neatly. The student did not try to mix colors, did not clean up properly, and did not find the right sized brush needed to create the piece neatly.
Fair

The student was somewhat neat with the application of the paint and tried to mix some colors, but could have worked harder.
Good

The student was neat, thoughtful to what sized brushes would be used, cleaned up after themselves, and mixed tints, tones, and shades where appropriate.
Time on Task

Poor

The student did not use their time wisely in class.
Fair

The student could have used their time more wisely in class by talking less and focusing on their assignment more.
Good

The student worked hard consistently on their art and tried their hardest. They did not waste time.
Explanation and Presentation

Poor

The student did not present to the class and could not describe the process of creating their art.
Fair

The student finished his/her work yet either did not present to the class or else could not talk about his/her art using the Elements of Art.
Good

The student completed his/her art, presented it to the class, and was able to explain the process using the Elements of Art vocabulary.
