Students will learn about the style and works of Alberto Giacometti. They will compare and contrast Giacometti's works to that of August Rodin. After learning about additive sculpture, they will create a wire armature that shows some sort of human movent. The armature will be secured into a base with hot glue, then students will add both strip and Pave Pal and burlap to create their sculpture. The base will be augmented with a plaque that names the piece.

After learning about additive sculpture, they will create a wire armature and newspaper armature. The armature will be secured with rubber bands to create the spider/ insect to create their sculpture. Finally, the sculpture and will be covered in tissue paper and other mixed media to create texture. Students will create an artists statements that will include naming the specimen.
