This is the scoring rubric for the Cardboard Chair Design and Construction

Clay Relief: an idea, a sketch, a clay tile with three distinct levels...

Students create their own unique ceramic houses using slab construction.

Students will learn about the style and works of Alberto Giacometti. They will compare and contrast Giacometti's works to that of August Rodin. After learning about additive sculpture, they will create a wire armature that shows some sort of human movent. The armature will be secured into a base with hot glue, then students will add both strip and Pave Pal and burlap to create their sculpture. The base will be augmented with a plaque that names the piece.

Finally, the sculpture and will be painted, then augmented with a plaque that names the piece.

Students create an oil pastel drawing using Maude Lewis' folk art as their inspiration

Students will be able to use observation to develop a visual representation of 5 or more objects and show evidence of problem solving using basic visual arts concepts including: foreground, mid-ground and background, proportion, the 5 elements of value and craftsmanship

This rubric is used for a two point perspective candy box drawing

Students studied Pop Art. After understanding Pop Art and how popular images were used they took photos of themselves or an object and altered the image using various apps on iPads. Students then painted an image using the altered photographs as inspiration.

Students will create, draw, or write about an invention that would help the world. The invention may need technologies or tools that are not invented as of yet, as da Vinci sketched inventions that could not yet be made during his lifetime, but they must be realistic and not involve "magic" as its way of being operated. Students should label any simple machines (such as wedges, screws, inclined planes, wheel & axle) that are within the invention.

A rubric that properly evaluates the artistic process. It measures the various phases and approaches that are necessary in the assessment of a project or a work of art.

This rubric is used for a two point perspective city drawing

Students will learn about Louis Bourgeois, Moore and David Grodzinsky compare and contrast works of each artist. After learning about additive sculpture, they will create a wire armature and newspaper armature. The armature will be secured with rubber bands to create the spider/ insect to create their sculpture. Finally, the sculpture and will be covered in tissue paper and other mixed media to create texture. Students will create an artists statements that will include naming the specimen.
