Plot developments
4 Exemplary
All entries show a superior understanding of plot and character by including all plot developments that pertain to that particular character.
3 Proficient
Most entries show a basic understanding of plot and character. Majority of plot incidents that pertain to character are included.
2 Fair
While the entries include some important plot developments pertaining to character, some major plot developments are left out. In addition, or another possibility is that the some entries include plot incidents that do not affect the character or the character would have no knowledge about. As a result, entries show a limited understanding of plot and character.
1: Below Proficient
Entries show little understanding of plot due to major plot incidents that are not included or there are many entries that include plot developments that have nothing to do with that particular character. Consequently, the entries show little understanding of plot and character.
Quotes
4 Exemplary
Excellent choice of quotes. The quotes used in journal entries show a superior understanding of plot and character. Also, all entries include a corresponding quote. In addition, all quotes are properly documented in MLA format.
3 Proficient
Good choice of quotes. Most quotes included show a basic understanding of plot and character. All entries include a quotes that are properly cited in MLA format.
2 Fair
Some quotes are important to character and plot, but some are not the best choice to show a basic understanding of plot and character. Another possibility is that one entry does not contain a quote. <BR>

Fair job: there are several errors in grammar and/or spelling. These errors do cause confusion in meaning in some parts of the project.
