Political Candidate Cartoon Women during WWII and After Students will make a political cartoon to represent the viewpoint(s) of one Presidential candidate of their choosing. Comprehension	Poor Student has very little understanding about the topic and/or the candidate.	Fair Student somewhat understands the topic and/or the candidate.	Good Student clearly understands the topic and the candidate and it is evident in their cartoon.
Content	Poor Student made up the cartoon without any factual basis and/or no political cartoon element is present.	Fair Student used opinions or feelings about the candidate rather than actual information for the basis of their cartoon and hinted toward a political cartoon element.	Good Student used actual information found during research and included an element typical of a political cartoon.
Originality	Poor Uses other people's ideas (giving them credit), but there is little evidence of original thinking.	Fair Product shows some original thought. Work shows new ideas and insights.	Good Product shows a large amount of original thought. Ideas are creative and inventive.
Grammer	Poor Four misspellings and/or grammatical errors.	Fair Three or fewer misspellings and/or mechanical errors.	Good No misspellings or grammatical errors.
