Using the Slab Construction Method and Sgraffito color techniques, students will create a lidded box.

Sgraffito Lidded Box
	Poor 10 pts	Decent 20 pts	Excellent 25 pts
Slab Construction	Poor Box is poorly constructed, angles are not 90 degrees. There is no lid, or lid can fall off. Score and Slip method has been used in some areas, but not all.	Decent Student box has some accuracy in the (90 degree) right angles, but it does appear that some walls are caving in. Lid is a little loose, and there is slight risk of it falling off the form. Some evidence of Score and Slip method still apparent in the box.	Excellent Student made a uniform box, with accuracy in the (90 degree) right angles. Lid is secure, there is no risk of lid falling off the form. Score and Slip Method has been smoothed out on the inside and outside of the box.
Sgraffito	Poor Did not add any sgraffito design.	Decent Added Sgraffito to inside, outside, or both.	Excellent Added a visually balanced and uniform sgraffito design to the inside, outside, or both.
Creativity / Symbolism	Poor Student did not challenge themself to make interesting or visually-inviting artwork.	Decent Student work is interesting but not original, student was inspired by researched images.	Excellent The design is a personal expression of the student, whether that be representational or abstract. The work is visually appealing and inviting to the viewer.
Accessories (Handle & Feet)	Poor Box does not have feet nor handles.	Decent Box has feet. Box has handle.	Excellent Box has well-designed and creatively-shaped feet that elevate the box off of a table. Box has creative and functional handle(s) that can safely remove the lid from the box.
