	EMERGING 1 pts	DEVELOPING 2 pts	PROFICIENT 3 pts	EXTENDING 4 pts
Grammar	EMERGING Unable to use basic grammar structures appropriate a message is not clear	DEVELOPING Demostrates some inconsistencies in grammar structures. Thus, message is somewhat clear.	PROFICIENT Use of grammar structures is appropriate making only a few mistakes.	EXTENDING Demonstrates full command of grammar structures and makes virtually no mistakes.
Pronounciation	EMERGING Pronouncaition is unacceptable and was distorted. More practice needed.	DEVELOPING On occasion, pronounciation interferes with communication	PROFICIENT Pronounciation is appropriate.Made only a few mistakes. Message was clear.	EXTENDING Pronounciation is near perfect.
Fluency	EMERGING Often hesitates while speaking. Poor pacing interfered with communication.	DEVELOPING Often hesitates while speaking making cmmunication difficult at times due to fair pacing.	PROFICIENT Pacing is appropriate and message is clear.	EXTENDING Student almost never hesitates while speaking and demonstrated excellent fluency of the language.
Content	EMERGING Lacked basic knowledge of topic and was unable to develop appropriate simple sentence patterns.	DEVELOPING Demonstrates some command of the topic, but there were inaccuracies and omissions that were evident.	PROFICIENT Demonstrates accurate knowledge of subject matter except in minor details.	EXTENDING Demonstrates thorough and accurate knowledge of the subject.
Vocabulary	EMERGING Uses basic vocabuary and expressions. There were a lot of errors in word choice.	DEVELOPING Used limited vocabulary and expressions and there were many errors and word choice.	PROFICIENT Used a good variety of vocabulary and expressions. There were only a few errors in word choice.	EXTENDING Used a variety of vocabulary and expressions. No errors.
