ENGAGEMENT	Needs Improvement Student is on-task, involved and participates in class/carpet time, independent and group work part of the time. (<60%)	Developing Student is on-task, involved and participates in class/carpet time, independent and group work but not all the time. (60-75%)	Proficient Student is on-task, involved and participates in class/carpet time, independent and group work almost all of the time. (75% or more)	Exemplary Student is eager and appropriate in being involved in class/carpet time, on independent and group work. Takes a leadership role.
BEHAVIOR	Needs Improvement Student often misbehaves and demonstrates disrespect for teacher, or others in class. (outbursts, talks like a baby, etc.)	Developing Student generally behaves and demonstrates appropriate behavior in class.	Proficient Student demonstrates respect for teacher, self, and fellow students. He/she abides classroom expectations and procedures.	Exemplary Student is a model for other students in the appropriate manner of behaving in class.
COMPLIANCE	Needs Improvement Student rarely listens to teacher requests or finishes class work. Does not follow directions during transitions.	Developing Student listens to teacher inconsistently and sometimes does work. Sometimes listens to directions during transitions.	Proficient Student regularly listens to teacher in a timely fashion and consistently does class work. Consistently can transition in a timely manner.	Exemplary Student always listens to teacher in a timely manner and finishes class work. Is a model for others in showing the appropriate way to follow directions quickly and efficiently during transitions.
