Seams- matching 10 pts	Poor Most seams incorrect width. Edges are not matched. Seams are sewn crooked. Notches are not matched properly.	Fair Some of the seams are incorrectly. Edges are matched. Closure- zipper/tie/elastic 10 pts	Poor Closure-Zipper/tie/elastic is sewn in incorrectly and does not function. Threads are not tied and raw edges are showing. closure is not centered.	Fair 50% of sewing is accurate. Most of sewing is incorrect and closure does not close properly. Stitching is crooked and steps were not followed correctly. Workmanship/Overall Appearance 10 pts Knowledge of Sewing Machine	Poor The project does not look anything like it is supposed to. Student never learned how to use machine correctly.	Fair Project does not look like it is suppose to. Project has obvious matching and size problems due to inexact measuring, cutting, and/or sewing. Most of the threads are unclipped and many wrinkles. Student needed help with sewing machine on a daily basis.	Good Project has some matching and size problems due to inexact measuring, cutting, and/or sewing. Many unclipped threads and/or wrinkles. Student needed help with the sewing machine some of the time.	Very Good Project exhibits moderately good workmanship. Some mistakes are evident in seams and/or matching. Seams are not all consistent, stitching may be loose in spots. A few unclipped threads and/or wrinkles. Student needed help with the sewing machine on occasion.	Excellent Excellent workmanship throughout. Project has consistent seams, few mistakes, tight stitches, and seams are well matched. Size and shape is exact. darts / gathers 10 pts	Poor Darts are sewn incorrectly with sudden end to stitching causing a dimple. Darts are not in the correct place .	Fair Darts are sewn incorrectly with sudden end to stitching causing a dimple. Darts are not pressed to the correct side.	Good Darts are mostly sewn correctly. Threads are cut too short. Darts are not stitched evenly on both sides of the garment. Seam may not be backstitched.	Very Good Darts are mostly sewn correctly but stitching may not be straight, seam may not backstitched. Darts may be slightly uneven.	Excellent Darts are made correctly with no mistakes. Garment darts look store bought .
Hem 10 pts	Poor Hem is not sewn correctly. Raw edges are showing. No attempt was made to make correctly.	Fair Hem is not sewn with a blindstitch correctly. If machine made hem, stitching is uneven and sloppy. Hemline is uneven.	Good 70% of hem is sewn neatly. Hem is mostly straight but some mistakes.	Very Good 90% of hem is straight and sewn correctly. There are minor mistakes. Hand stitching/blindstitches are not spaced evenly.	Excellent Hem is correctly sewn with evenly spaced stitching. Blindstitching stitches do not show on the outside, if used. Hem is even and no raw edges are showing. garment hem looks store bought.
