Performance posture and practice	Mastery Student is upright sitting in chair with straight back, front of chair, feet on the ground, with instrument held in optimal playing position for the whole performance.	Meets Expectations Student sits upright in chair with feet on the ground, and the instrument is held in optimal playing position for 90-95%	Near Expectations Student sits upright in chair with feet on the ground, and the instrument is held in optimal playing position for at least 80-89% of the performance.	Not Meeting Expectations Student sits upright in chair with feet on the ground, and the instrument is held in optimal playing position for 70-79% of the performance.	No Attempt Student sits upright in chair with feet on the ground, and the instrument is held in optimal playing position for less than 70% of the performance.
Tone Quality	Mastery Tone is full and supported with excellent air support. The performance demonstrates mature concepts of tone production. Vibrato consistently used where appropriate.
