Success Skills Reflection Journal 100 % This rubric is designed to evaluate a student's reflections in the course journal. Three topics must be included. Refer to the assignment sheet for particulars.
	Poor A poor job of providing the required information is performed by the writer. No clear topics are defined. 0 pts	Fair The 3 assigned categories need work. Topics are present, but not defined. 15 pts	Good The writer does a good job applying the 3 topics to the journal. 20 pts	Excellent The writer completely covers all required information. 25 pts
Grammar 25 % The writer uses standard English and correct grammar throughout the reflection.	Poor There are many (more than 15) grammar and spelling errors with no apparent attempt to correct them.	Fair There are numerous (more than 10) grammar and spelling errors.	Good There are some (more than 5) spelling and grammar errors throughout the paper.	Excellent No errors exist in the citation or in grammar and spelling.
Summary 25 % A brief summary of each success skill topic (3 are required) is included in each reflection.	Poor No summary is given.	Fair A summary of the skill is attempted, but is severely lacking in more than one area.	Good A summary of the skill is provided, but is hard to comprehend for the reader.	Excellent A brief summary of the skill is given with all the required information.
Implications (What if...) 25 % The reflection contains information on how this topic might apply to their future career.	Poor No implications are mentioned.	Fair One implication is mentioned, but is poorly developed in the reflection.	Good One or more implications are given and are sufficently clarified.	Excellent Implications are clearly explicated and demonstrate critical thinking skills
Personal experiences 25 % The writer shares a personal experience they have had with the topic in their life as a student, or in their observations.	Poor No personal experiences are given.	Fair Personal experiences are poorly developed in the reflection.	Good Personal experiences are clearly mentioned and expanded on.	Excellent The personal experiences of the writer are fully explained and relate to the topic of the success skill.
