Excellent control of basic linguistic patterns, speaks with emotion appropriate to topic.

Does not attempt beyond saying basic level one words and/or repeats phrases and words.
Fair
Gives only one word responses. Pauses frequently to "remember" sentences rather than to speak naturally.
Good
Can speak in advanced complete sentences. Needs to pause for organization and or/clarification , but just needs time to answer.
Excellent
Good command of vocabulary. Can speak within advanced dialogue structure regarding self for the required time. Can be understood by any listener.
Vocabulary Usage
Poor
Used little to no variety in descriptions. Much of the same learned phrases are repeated.
Fair
Demonstrated vocabulary used in lower level Spanish courses and created minimal descriptions. Little of the new vocabulary for the unit used.
Good
Demonstrated some use of vocabulary present in all three previous levels and new vocabulary learned during this unit/level.
Excellent
Demonstrated a wide variety of vocabulary present from previous levels and a variety of vocabulary learned at the present level.
