Map Features Student included all seven features of the river course in the right locations	Needs Improvement Student omitted more than one feature of the river's course.	Met Expectations Student included all features or omitted only one feature.	Exceeded Expectations Student included all features and included background and used colors that show a true understanding of the topic.
Labels Student correctly labeled the features on the map	Needs Improvement Student omitted more than one label.	Met Expectations Student omitted one label.	Exceeded Expectations Student accurately labelled all features.
Description Student could verbally explain the function of each feature in the river's course	Needs Improvement Student could not accurately name all features without support or explain their function.	Met Expectations Student was able to name all of the river's features, but could not adequately explain their function.	Exceeded Expectations Student was able to list all features of the river's course and explain their function as part of the system.
