Use of blogs	Exceeds Student contribution is strong, substantial and shows thorough understanding of the entry.	Meets Student contribution is strong, substantial and shows thorough understanding of the entry.	Partially Meets Student contribution is timely but does not give evidence of substantial contribution. There is limited reference to understanding the entry.	Does Not Meet Student contributution is minimum and does not fully explain reasons .
Intellectual Engagement	Exceeds Blog entries show strong awareness of key issues.It is clear student read the overview hand out.Includes a strong, thoughtful opinion Student's own opinion is also present.	Meets Blog comments show awareness of key issues. It is clear student read the overview. Includes a thoughtful student opinion.	Partially Meets Blog comments make some reference to the overview handout. Student begins to form opinions.
