Smooth finish with no visible scratches. Some cross grain sanding may be visible.

Smooth finish with no visible scratches.
Finish application

Student neglects to use proper safety equipment and is careless when working. Requires constant reminders. Does not keep area neat and organized. Evident that student has little regard for safety procedures.
Developing
With prompting, student uses safety glasses and ear protection. Student is somewhat careless about work and does not keep area neat. Able to remember safety procedures with some prompting.
Achieving
Student usually uses safety glasses/ear protection, works carefully and keeps work area neat and clutter free. Can explain tool safety procedures with minimal prompting.
Excelling
Student always uses safety glasses/ear protection, works carefully and keeps work area neat and clutter free. Can explain tool safety procedures immediately when asked.
Craftsmanship
Beginning
Project has many errors. Final product may resemble plan, but has not been constructed correctly based on plans and instructions.
Developing
Project assembled haphazardly. Student has not followed plans closely and built project to quality standards. Errors have reduced the quality of the final product.
Achieving
Project built to detailed standards. Able to be displayed proudly.Student has attempted to follow plans closely and be precise to produce a high quality final product.
Excelling
Project built to detailed standards. Student has followed plans closely and has used precision in assembly. The student has produced an excellent quality final product.
