Foundations: Printmaking Project 
Student's were assigned to create a set of 5 prints from an EZCarve Relief Block. They created images of animals after doing a visualization exercise. Student were also asked to present their work at the highest level of craftsmanship.

Students were to demonstrate their understanding using carving tools and relief plate

The artwork is planned carefully; understanding of all concepts and instructions is clearly shown.

Student has clearly shown growth in skill level and design ability

Student's line quality is excellent. The carved marks capture and interpret the animal's texture on their body. Materials have different qualities, example: fur as a opposed to eyeballs are approached with different strategies.

Student has shown some growth in skill level and design ability.

Student did some line work when carving to create a sense of texture. More of this work would help enhance the texture of the animal.

Student did not always create an exact color correspondence, but did try to manipulate and experiment with the inks. There are areas of the work that are very successful, and others that need improvement.
