Trading Places Students will design and draw a cartoon or caricature style artwork that depicts their translations of human and natural life cycles combining or being connected in some way. Draw in Cartoon Style Students will draw in a cartoon style of drawing	Poor -drawing not in cartoon style	Fair -drawing somewhat in cartoon style -shows cartoon style but needs more work	Good -drawing definitely shows cartoon style
Shows Care with Media Students will use care in working with the media	Poor -smears and smudges distract from artwork -unwanted lines not erased -did not trace all lines with pen	Fair -most smears and smudges are erased or disguised in drawing -unwanted pencil lines are erased but still show because initial lines were made too dark -traced most lines with pen -traced but not done well	Good -no smears and smudges show in final artwork -initial pencil lines are fully erased -all pencil lines have been covered with pen lines
Artistic Interpretation Students will show a clever connection between human and natural life cycle elements	Poor -does not show connection between human and natural life cycle -shows only one aspect of life cycle: human OR natural	Fair -shows some aspects of both human and natural life cycles but needs more connection -show some connection between human and natural life cycles but connection does not make sense	Good -clearly shows both human and natural life cycle aspects -connection between human and natural life cycle aspects is obvious -connection between human and natural life cycle is very clever and shows a new perspective
Enjoyment Students will have fun making interesting sketches	Poor -does not show enjoyment of sketching in cartoon style -does not show enjoyment of exploring a new or unique sketching style	Fair -shows some pleasure at exploring a new or unique sketching style but could show more -shows some pleasure at sketching in a cartoon style but could show more	Good -definitely enjoyed exploring new sketching style ideas -attempted to motivate others to see the joy in sketching in a new or unique style
