Technique	Poor The dancer demonstrates poor technique.	Below Proficient The dancer demonstrates below proficient.	Proficient The dancer demonstrates proficient technique.	Good The dancer demonstrates good technique.	Excellent The dancer demonstrates excellent technique.
Use of Space	Poor Dancer stays in same space throughout the piece. No level change or locomotor movement.	Below Proficient Dancer does not travel but a few feet from original space and has little exploration of levels.	Proficient Dancer travels adequatley throughout space. With obvious level changes.	Good Dancer travels with well throughout the space with good level changes.	Excellent The dancer has a strong concept of making the most out of their performance space and levels.
Variety of Movements	Poor The dance repeats the same movement consistently.	Below Proficient The dancer displays the same movement more than twice.	Proficient The dancer shows a variety of movements however repeats.	Good The dancer demonstrates a good range of movement variety.	Excellent The dancer demonstrates an excellent range in movement variety.
Musicality	Poor Changes in timing have not been utilized. Counts were inconsistent. Flow is missing.	Below Proficient Timing was explored but phrasing was inconsistent. Rhythmic phrasing was apprehensive	Proficient Timing and phrasing are consistance. Dancers shows no hesitation in between movements.	Good Exploration of rhythm and music is evident. Movement has a voice of its own.	Excellent Rhythm is interesting and adds depth to work.
Stage Presence	Poor Dancer shows no poise and does not perform with any effort. Dancer appears to be unfocused.	Below Proficient Dancer shows little poise and doesn't perform with much effort. The dancer loses focus often.	Proficient Dancer is able to maintain poise and seems focused for the most part.	Good Dancer displays good focus, poise, and effort.	Excellent Dancer demonstrates an excellent amount of focus, poise, and effort.
