Good Student answers most or all of the prompt but does not draw their own conclusions or inferences. Some research conducted.	Excellent Student answers all pieces of the prompt. Draws conclusions based on their own experiences or based off information provided in class. Academic research conducted where appropriate.
Writing Convention	Poor Student does not use APA formatting, has many grammatical errors and typos. Organization is chaotic.	Good Student does not use APA formatting correctly, has some grammatical errors or typos. Organization could could be improved.	Excellent Student writes in APA formatting, free from grammatical errors, typos and easy to follow. Journal is organized in a thoughtful and concise manner.
Research Conducted	Poor Student conducts poor or no research and does not use APA citations.	Good Student uses outside sources, though not entirely academic, and attempts to use APA citations.	Excellent Student uses outside academic resources to conduct research where appropriate and includes them in the proper APA citation.
