Canterbury Tales Characterization Introduction The student will follow the example from the Canterbury Tales and create their own characterization. Voice 20 pts	Excellent Strong projection and articulation/believable.	Good Projection and articulation were clear for the most part	Fair Projection and articulation need developing	Needs work Difficult to hear and understand the actor's voice
Satire 20 pts Students will demonstrate their knowledge of satire by have examples in their poem.	Excellent There are at least one example of satire in the poem. The student clearly understands satire and how to use it in context.	Good There was at least one example of satire and the student has a basic understand of satire.	Fair There were not any clear examples of satire, but the student still made an attempt to include it in their poem.	Needs work The student showed no effort in including satire.
iambic pentameter 20 pts Poem follows the iambic pentameter rhythm	Excellent All lines in the poem follow the iambic pentameter and each line has the ten syllable pattern.	Good Most of the lines follow iambic pentameter.	Fair Some of the lines follow iambic pentameter.	Needs work None of the lines follow iambic pentameter.
Creativity / Content 40 pts Student will research their character and be creative.	Excellent Student was very creative and the knew their character. Student had clearly researched and based their information on actual facts about their character.	Good Student had good content and was creative in their thinking, but needed more information to back up their facts.	Fair Student uses little creativity and did not research their character.	Needs work Student needs more creativity and content.
