Project shows little effort but did not really try to learn about java programming. Some programming was learned but nothing that challenged the creator.
Good

Challenged to learn more about java programming. Evident that the creator enjoyed the prospect of learning java. Worked to accomplish as much java as possible within the time allotted.
Creativity

Poor

Not creative. No interesting use of code.
Fair

Used code in a simple way, but very little creativity involved. Coding itself was not creatively employed. The program was not creative.
Good

Coding was creative in and of itself. The program created was creative and interesting. Tried to create something within his skill level but something that was at the same altogether interesting.
Errors in code

Poor

More than 6 errors in code that were not addressed or fixed. Program runs very choppily.
Fair

3-6 errors in the code. Program runs somewhat smoothly but there are still kinks within the program itself. Code was not checked and therefore errors were not fixed.
Good

0-3 errors in the code. Program runs very smooth. Code is easy to follow. Very little kinks within the code. Everything seems to run according to intended result. Although not an expert in coding, evident that skill level in Java programming has increased.
Complexity of Code

Poor

Code not complex
Fair

Code was moderately complex.
Good

Code showed complexity in execution and in number. Matches the level of the new programmer.
Design Structure

Poor

Hard to follow does not make much sense
Fair

Design is good but not very well thought out
Good

Very well thought out design structure. Program makes more sense because design structure was thought out. Structure flows naturally.

Lack of preparation. Has less than 30% of the requirements described. Doesn't clearly show the goals and challenges of project.
Fair

Showed some preparation and research. Fulfilled 40-70% of the requirements. Is able to explain at least one goal and a challenge.
Good

Complete preparation and was able to explain the project clearly. Shows all requirements, goals and challenges.
