Writing Skills 5 pts	Very Good Writing is clear and succinct. Accurate spelling, grammar, sentence and paragraph construction are used throughout essay with few minor exceptions. Material is cited appropriately and as necessary. 5 pts	Good Writing is generally clear and understandable. Essay may contain 3-4 minor/1-2 major errors in spelling, grammar, sentence and paragraph construction. Material is cited appropriately and as necessary with no more than 2 exceptions. 4 pts	Needs Improvement Writing lacks clarity and focus; may contain multiple spelling and/or grammatical errors; sentence and paragraph construction are weak.
