	Beginning 1 pts	Developing 2 pts	Accomplished 3 pts	Exemplary 4 pts
Organization	Beginning Audience cannot understand presentation because there is no sequence of information.	Developing Audience has difficulty following presentation because student jumps around.	Accomplished Student presents information in logical sequence which audience can follow.	Exemplary Student presents information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow.
Subject Knowledge	Beginning Student does not have grasp of information; student cannot answer questions about his/her invention.	Developing Student is uncomfortable with information and is able to answer only rudimentary questions concerning his/her invention.	Accomplished Student is at ease with expected answers to all questions about his/her invention and Class Invention Book, but fails to elaborate.	Exemplary Student demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) by answering all class questions with explanations and elaboration concerning his/her invention.
Eye Contact	Beginning Student presents all information with no eye contact.	Developing Student occasionally uses eye contact, but still follows his/her notes closely.	Accomplished Student maintains eye contact most of the time but frequently returns to his/her notes.	Exemplary Student maintains eye contact with audience, seldom returning to his/her notes.
Elocution	Beginning Student mumbles, incorrectly pronounces terms, and speaks too quietly for students in the back of class to hear.	Developing Student's voice is low. Student incorrectly pronounces terms. Audience members have difficulty hearing presentation.	Accomplished Student's voice is clear. Student pronounces most words correctly. Most audience members can hear presentation.	Exemplary Student uses a clear voice and correct, precise pronunciation of terms so that all audience members can hear presentation.
