Digital Photography - Portrait Assignment Digital Photography - Portrait Assignment Students are required to place their best portrait into a folder on album section and name it on ning.com . The folder must be labeled with the student's name and the word Portraits. All images must be properly exposed, well composed. All images must employ an interesting composition. 	Excellent 4 pts	Good 3 pts	Fair 2 pts	Poor 1 pts
Exposure	Excellent Photo image is excellent with good contrast and range of light to dark tones.	Good Exposure is good, neither too dark or too light.	Fair Exposure is fair contrast either too great or too little	Poor Subject is either too dark or too light.
Focus	Excellent Excellent detail in highlights, shadows & midtones makes a good, clear image. Initial photo was obviously taken with proper camera settings selected.	Good Good detail in image; selective blur & sharpening will enhance parts of the image.	Fair Fair detail in image; selective blur & sharpening could enhance some parts of the image.	Poor Photo is blurry; image was obviously photographed incorrectly OR Photoshop tools were used incorrectly.
Composition	Excellent Photographer uses rules of composition effectively to enhance the image.	Good Photographer uses rules of composition	Fair Photograph demonstrates little visual interest and creativity in composition, framing and subject matter.	Poor Photograph does not demonstrate visual interest and creativity in composition, framing and subject matter. Subject is centered in the photo.
Creativity	Excellent Student approaches subject and subject matter creatively. It is clear that the student explored several solutions to the assignment.	Good Good representation of assigned objectives. The student has explored creative solutions to the assignment.	Fair Fair representation of assigned objectives; lacks originality and shows little or no evidence of trying anything unusual.	Poor Photographer does not show a creative approach to the assignment.
Rapport	Excellent Subject makes eye contact OR good expression OR looks comfortable with the experience of being photographed.	Good Subject making eye contact, but has an uncomfortable expression.	Fair Subject aware of photographer but not making eye contact	Poor Subject not looking at photographer, no contact,no rapport.
