Art - Exploring Line Art - Exploring Line Students are introduced to the concept of line as an Element of Design. Line Quality	Level R Has not followed instructions for application of lines.	Level 1 - Poor An attempt to apply lines correctly has been made. Lines are sloppy and appear to be quickly sketched in.	Level 2 - Fair Line was used correctly but was not consistently interesting or was impatiently applied in some areas.	Level 3 - Good Lines were used correctly. Time, effort and thought was clearly put into placement of lines.	Level 4 - Excellent Lines were used correctly. A great deal of time, effort and thought was put into the placement and use of lines in this composition.
Balance / Use of Space	Level R Space has been used very poorly. There is no sense of asymmetrical balance. Finished composition is not unified.	Level 1 - Poor Space has been used somewhat effectively. The composition is not entirely balanced but an attempt has been made. Finished product is mostly unified.	Level 2 - Fair Space has been used fairly effectively. The composition feels balanced, but has some dead space that could have been used better. Finished product is unified.	Level 3 - Good Space has been used quite effectively. The composition feels balanced with no dead space. Finished product is unified and feels complete.	Level 4 - Excellent Space is used very effectively. The compostion is nicely balanced and interesting. Finished product is very unified and feels complete.
Media / Creativity	Level R Media is used incorrectly or without refinement, drawing is unfinished or appears messy and needs attention. Presentation has not been considered.	Level 1 - Poor Media could be improved or cleaned up. Some areas of the drawing need further attention. The student finished the project, but it could have been improved with more effort.	Level 2 - Fair Media is used fairly well but could be improved or cleaned up. Use of colour adds some interest. The composition is finished but appears rushed in areas.	Level 3 - Good Media is used carefully and skillfully and the drawing is completely finished. Use of colour adds interest. With a little more effort the finished product might have been outstanding.	Level 4 - Excellent Media is applied with a great deal of care and skill. Use of colour adds a lot of interest and skillfully draws the viewers eye. Finished product excedes expectations.
