Elements/Principles of Design

4

Multiple elements and principles were added to their fauvism scene to create visual interest like texture, color, shapes, line and value. They created texture through using colored pencils and/or markers on top of their watercolor scene or their animal/landscape. Color was added to their scene to make the exquisite corpse contrast from the background. They added value through their work through the building up of watercolor and watering it down.
3

Multiple elements and principles were added to their fauvism scene to create visual interest. They met the requirements, but needed to consider one of two more of the principles to fix errors like the fauvism blending in with the background or not adding anything to their background after using watercolors.
2

There were problems in their recreation artwork. 3-4 elements and principles were not considered in the making of their fauvism scene. They did not add colored pencil elements to create shapes, lines and/or value. Their colors may have been off and made their fauvism not stand out from the scene.
1

None of the elements or principles were thought out in creating their exquisite corpse scene.

4

Student produced an exceptional fauvism animal/landscape scene. It is evident that time, effort, and thought were put in to it through thinking what kind of background the animal/landscape should have. The scene was made in a neat and tidy manner and they worked on refining/fixing their piece by fixing/adding elements with marker/colored pencil after using watercolors and/or tempera paint.
3

Produces quality work. Effort and time were put in to the fauvism animal/landscape scene. They created the project in a proficient manner, but they needed to refine a couple minor details like the salt/straw details added into the background/watercolor mess ups/sharpie lines being messy.
2

Needs improvement. Quality is below expectations in their fauvism animal/landscape. More effort needed in making sure their piece is craftily made like the outlining of the animal/landscape, not a lot of various colors added to their artwork, threw the salt wherever in their painting instead of in specific/purposeful areas.
1

Did not produce quality work. Student did not show effort. Work was messy and not refined in any way. They did not refine any errors in their work and they did not take their time neatly creating their piece.

4

Fauvism Animal/landscape scene is fully complete/colored in. Student added extra components to the fauvism animal/landscape or the background that were not required, but that strengthened their piece and made it look more complete.
3

All steps of the project were completed thoughtfully.Through the creation of the animal, the color placement on the animal and shading with watercolors for the background along with the salt/straw technique.
2

Student only completed some of the requirements. The fauvism animal/landscape was not executed well and the colors were mixed until they were murky. There was no differentiation in the brush strokes.
