Portraits are a favorite style of many photographers. During this assignment you will find portraits that are of a style you enjoy and use your skills to emulate them. We will be sharing our photographs with the class and explaining what we took inspiration from and what we liked about the photographers we chose to emulate.

Good use of available light and light position. The lighting style is easily identifiable and clearly emulates the style of the photographer chosen.
Excelling

Effectively achieved the lighting technique and the desired effect. The mood/feel of the chosen photographer has been effectively emulated through use of lighting.
Creativity/ Invention

Poor

Photo does not show a creative approach to the assignment.
Adequate

Fair representation of assigned objectives; lacks originality and shows little or no evidence of trying anything unusual.

Good representation of assigned objectives. The student has explored creative solutions to the assignment.

(Some attempt has been made to change different elements of the photo, but it's still clear that there are similarities.)

Image demonstrates a creative approach to the assignment; student has expanded on the basic requirements. It is clear that the student explored several choices/solutions to the assignment.

(It is clear that the student has pulled different elements of the inspiration photo, but worked to make their portrait their own.)
