The composition is organized with symbols, and shapes in a way that provides enough visual information to the viewer that a concept is understood.

The visual organization of the composition is strong in its use of symbols and shapes and does an excellent job of communicating clear ideas and concepts to the viewer.
Lesson Objective 4

I can create a monochromatic painting using tints, tones and shades.

Beginning

Student didn't begin or complete the paint due to poor time management and not coming in to work during open studio time after, before, or during school.

Student did not use monochromatic colors schemes in the work or has a variety of color that are too close in values to communicate ideas.

Student's work has a variety of tints, tones, and shades, but could use a second coat to make the ideas more clear.
Mastery

Student did an excellent job painting the work. The monochromatic color scheme does a great job supporting the artist ideas.
