Orchestra Playing Assessment Rubric w/o prep time 
This is a rubric for middle school orchestra students. It is a general guidline for the skills they are learning. It is intended to help them understand what is expected of them.

Steady Tempo

Played most of the piece at a steady tempo. May have slowed down/hesitated once during the performance of the piece.
2-Fair

Played some of the piece with a steady tempo. May have slowed down/hesitate several times so the listener is unsure of what rhythm was being performed.
1-Poor

Did not play with a steady tempo which caused the rests and note lengths to be unclear. It also made it hard for the listener to determine the time signature of the song.
Pitch(note names)
