Drama- Group recitation of a Halloween poem Poetry Recitation -- For a Group Presentation Students will work in small group to recite a Halloween poem incorporating as many different vocal effects to add interest, and to build vocal skills and strategies. Poetry Recitation
	Level 4 4 pts	Level 3 3 pts	Level 2 2 pts	Level 1 1 pts
Preparation	Level 4 Students are well prepared and it is obvious that they have rehearsed the poem thoroughly. The poem is memorized	Level 3 Students are well prepared but the presentation of the poem required a few more rehearsals.	Level 2 Students are not well prepared and would benefit from many more rehearsals.	Level 1 Students are obviously unprepared for the task. No evidence of any rehearsals.
Posture / Eye Contact	Level 4 The students stand up straight, are relaxed and confidant, establish and maintains eye contact with the audience throughout the presentation.	Level 3 The students stand up straight most of the time, are confidant and make eye contact with the audience most of the time.	Level 2 The students stand straight but lack confidence. They make an attempt to establish eye contact but do not maintain the contact.	Level 1 The students slouch, look uncomfortable and make no eye contact with the audience at all.
Vocal effects:	Level 4 The students use vocal effect very successfully to convey the emotion of the poem.	Level 3 The students use vocal effects to convey the emotion of the poem.	Level 2 The students use some vocal effects to convey the emotion of the poem.	Level 1 There is no vocal effect in the students' voices at all.
Clarity Volume	Level 4 The students speak clearly, distinctly and are loud enough for all to hear throughout the presentation.	Level 3 The students speak clearly, distinctly but there are lapses in the volume throughout the presentation.	Level 2 The students speak clearly but are, at times, indistinct and the volume of the presentation varies during the poem.	Level 1 The students do not speak clearly, mispronounce words and are inaudible to the audience.
