Set War 2 player game: Children are given playing cards with shape arrays and numerals on them. They keep their cards turned over in a pile. Then, they each flip a card over. The player with the greater number keeps his card and his opponent's. If cards are equal. Players flip over another card. The player with the greater card keeps all four cards. Set War (Math Card Game) Comparing Sets - Arrays and Numerals 1-20
	Good 3 pts	Fair 2 pts	Poor 1 pts
Counting Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a rectangular array	Good Child can count an array that consists of twenty or less objects.	Fair Child has some difficulty counting an array that consists of twenty or less objects.	Poor Child cannot count an array that consists of twenty or less objects.
Comparing Identify whether the number of objects in one group or a numeral is greater than, less than, or equal to the number of objects in another group or another numeral. (1-20)	Good Child can compare sets of arrays and numerals to each other without guidance from the teacher.	Fair Child can compare a set of shape arrays to another array, but has difficulty comparing an array to a numeral. - or - Child can compare a numeral to another numeral, but has difficulty comparing a numeral to an array.	Poor Child cannot or refused to compare sets of arrays or numerals.
Vocabulary Use math vocabulary: greater than, less than, and equal to while comparing sets.	Good Child uses the correct vocabulary: greater than, less than, or equal to.	Fair Child sometimes uses math vocabulary correctly.	Poor Child does not refer to numerals or sets as being greater than, less than, or equal to.
