Cultural Competence

This analytic grading rubric sets clear objects and, allows students to apply critical thinking to affecting a Concept map on cultural competence. Students are allowed to be innovative in their designs and conceptualizations for the map, to create meaning full associations of culture and the role of the nurse in ensuring culturally respectful care.

	Poor Does not establish a relationship between factors of cultural competency 5 pts	Fair Identifies and establishes the relation of relevant factors that impact cultural competence. 25 pts	Good Identify and Synthesizes, the relation of all relevant processes to the attainment, maintenance and continuity 30 pts
Creteria #2 25 % Establish a relation of cultural competence to one's one own cultural background.	Poor Does not establish a relation to one's cultural background	Fair Establish a relation between one's cultural background and how it impacts cultural competence.	Good Synthesizes how one's cultural background impact the processes involved in the acquisition of culturally competent and integrates it into practice.
Criteria # 3 25 % Includes information form the literature that supports views.	Poor Does not include works in the literature to support views.	Fair Includes information for the literature to support most views delineated.	Good Appropriately cites and systematically includes literary support for all views delineated.
Criteria #4 20 % Identify the importance of viewing cultural cultural competence as a global phenomenon.	Poor Does not identify the importance of cultural competence as a global phenomenon.	Fair Successfully identify the importance of cultural competence as a global phenomenon in nursing.
