States the 3 topics that will be presented.	Approaching Includes an opening statement. Lists the topic to be presented. No transition statement.	Beginning Very brief introduction with little or no connections to the topic.
Focuses on Topic	Surpassing Clearly states information in an organized manner. Includes more than 3 topics to be discussed.Lists the planks of being a hero and is significant to the topic.	Meeting State information in an organized manner. Includes 3 topics to be discussed and lists planks of why the person is a hero.	Approaching Stays on topic and includes 2 topics to be discussed. The list of examples is limited.	Beginning Includes very little information on their hero in the speech.
