Mandatos	Poor Mandatos are formed incorrectly making meaning incomprehensible. Less than the minimum amount of mandatos was used for each student.	Fair Three mistakes or less were made while meeting the bare minimum requirement of number of mandatos. Meaning was for the most part comprehensible.	Good The student formed the mandatos correctly but just met the bare minimum requirement. Two or less mistakes were made in forming the mandatos.	Excellent Zero mistakes were made in the formation of the mandatos. More than the bare minimum were use in order to most accurately give the instructions and convey meaning.
Required Elements	Poor Incomplete – The student provides little of the information required or fails to complete the assignment.	Fair Partially complete – The student provides some information required in the description of the activity.	Good Generally complete – The student provides all information required in the description of the activity.	Excellent Complete – The student provides higher quality information than required in the description of the activity.
Comprehensibility	Poor The student language is basically incomprehensible.	Fair The student uses inappropriate language with major errors and the main idea is unclear.	Good The student conveys ideas using appropriate language with only minor errors.	Excellent The student uses all appropriate language to convey the main idea clearly.
Accuracy	Poor Mistakes in usage are pervasive, distort meaning and prevent effective communication.	Fair Mistakes in usage are frequent and may distort meaning or inhibit communication.	Good Any mistakes in usage are without pattern and do not distort the meaning or inhibit communication.	Excellent Structures and vocabulary are used correctly.
Fluency	Poor Constant hesitations and extreme problems with pronunciation cause communication to break down.	Fair The student speaks haltingly, with long pauses. Pronunciation and intonation errors impede communication.	Good The student speaks with some hesitation. Problems with pronunciation and intonation do not prevent effective communication.	Excellent The student speaks clearly and without hesitation. Pronunciation and intonation sound natural.
El anuncio	Poor The commercial was sloppily thrown together. There were several errors making the message almost incomprehensible. There was little or no creative effort involved.	Fair Certain aspects of the commercial were comprehensible although it was not quite clear what the advertisement was for. There were several errors and only some creative effort.	Good The commercial did not have any significant errors that interfered wit comprehensibility. The student(s) used some grammar and vocabulary from Spanish 3. Although the audience was entertained they were not completely persuaded to purchase the product.	Excellent The commercial was very creative. The student(s) found a way to incorporate a variety of grammar and vocabulary that they have learned in Spanish 3. The audience was at least entertained and at best actually wanted to purchase the product advertised.
Presente perfecto	Poor Present perfect was formed and used incorrectly making meaning incomprehensible.	Fair Meaning was slightly comprehensible although there were several errors in the formation of the present perfect and how it was used.	Good There were two or less errors in the formation of the present perfect. The tense was used correctly and meaning was not distorted.	Excellent The present perfect was used the required number of times and formed correctly. There were zero mistakes and it's use helped to express what happened ina certain time frame.
La tarjeta	Poor The note card had three or more infractions of the rules on it. Students kept their eyes on the note card for a significant portion of the presentation.	Fair The note card had two infractions of the rules on it. Student had to refer to the note card very often sometimes seeming to be reading from it.	Good There was one or less infraction of the rules on the note card. Student did not seem to be reading from it and only glanced at it occasionally.	Excellent The note card followed all the "rules" and was the same as when Sra. Karam checked it. Student never seemed to be "reading" from the card.
Presentation	Poor There was no beginning or closing to the show. Student just got up and rattled off a list of required elements. The instructions did not completely show how to make the dish.	Fair The show seemed to have holes in it. The student seemed concerned about meeting the minimum requirements rather than the presentation as a whole. Steps were left out and there was barely an introduction or closing segment.	Good There was an opening and closing segment and enough detail to get the recipe done correctly.	Excellent The show began with an opening segment welcoming the audience, an introduction of the cooks/ show, and a description of what was going to happen on that episode. The intro was catchy and the message was easily comprehensible. There is also a closing. Less than 2 errors were made.
