Introduction: Creative and is interesting for the reader. The problem is introduced and the author's position clearly stated.
Conclusion: It proposes a viable solution and/or moves the reader to rethink or act.

Introduction: Simple, introduces the problem and the position of the author.
Conclusion: Proposes a viable solution to the issue and attempts to move the reader to rethink or act.

Introduction: Problem is not clearly introduced. The position of the author is not clear.
Conclusion: The reader is not persuaded by what is being proposed.

Language is vivid and attractive. Sentence structure is varied. There are no more than 2 grammar/spelling mistakes. Professional and sophisticated.

Generally uses language accurately and effectively, but may sometimes be too general. Sentences generally clear, well structured, and focused, though some may be awkward or ineffective. No more than 5 spelling/grammar mistakes.

Language is basic; solid in some areas, weak in others. Student may use simple words and take few risks. Vocabulary is somewhat dull and/or repetitive and/or used incorrectly. There are more than 5 spelling/grammar mistakes.
