General Goal	A1 Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.	A2 Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Pronunciation	A1 Student was difficult to understand, quiet in speaking, unclear in pronunciation.	A2 Student was slightly unclear with pronunciation at times, but generally is fair.
Vocabulary	A1 Student had inadequate vocabulary words to express his/her ideas properly, which hindered the students in responding.	A2 Student was able to use broad vocabulary words but was lacking, making him/her repetitive and cannot expand on his/her ideas.
Comprehension	A1 Student had difficulty understanding the questions and topics that were being discussed.	A2 Student fairly grasped some of the questions and topics that were being discussed.
Background Knowledge	A1 Student was lacking in background knowledge which hindered his/her responses to the questions regarding class materials.	A2 Student showed decent background knowledge of class material, making his/her responses incomplete.
