Scope and comprehension Clearness, completeness, & purposefulness of response to topic issues.	A: Exceptional Response is focused & compelling. Details are richly presented in a purposeful and concise argument.	B: Competent Clearly presented and purposeful response: Details may lack in richness or fail to compel the listener.	C: Marginal Clear response that may lack supporting details: May contain unnecessary, distracting, and/or superfluous content.	D: Ineffective Response is somewhat clear: Some information does not support the central theme, is limited, and/or inconsequential	F: Failing Topic not answered or response is unclear and/or argument without purpose.
Analysis Analysis of the topic, depth of thought process	A: Exceptional The analysis is well reasoned, logical sequenced and rational: Thoughtful and convincing response clearly demonstrates depth of topic knowledge	B: Competent Response is well reasoned, logically sequences, and rational: Although knowledge is demonstrated, the argument is not strikingly convincing	C: Marginal Response is mostly reasoned, logically sequences, and rational: Depth of analysis and/or organization and/or topic knowledge may be lacking	D: Ineffective Response is unconvincing and/or disorganized: Response demonstrates an insufficient analysis and/or topic knowledge is not demonstrated.	F: Failing Analysis is not attempted or the response fails to demonstrate effort or address the central topic theme
Citations/References: Proper APA Writing fluency: Mechanics, grammar, vocabulary, punctuation and APA formatting	A: Exceptional Correct mechanics, spelling, formatting, punctuation, and grammar. APA formatting is correct.	B: Competent Response acceptable fluency, may be lackluster. Has correct mechanics, spelling, punctuation, grammar and formatting. Most APA is correct with few problems.	C: Marginal Understandable, but word usage, formatting, grammar, spelling, and punctuation may have slight deficiencies. APA has several problems minor problems.
