3 not very significant quotes by character are present; 3 not very significant quotes about the character are present. For the most part, quotes are copied exactly from text. Proper citing.
Partially meets standard

Some quotations are not fully explained. Proper citations are present, but quotations are not woven.
Does not meet standard

1 quote by and 1 quote about. Several errors in copying text exactly from novel. Page numbers not present.
Grammar and Mechanics

Exceeds standard

The writer demonstrates a consistent ability to use complete sentences and master subject-verb agreement. The writing does not have to be grammatically perfect; some minors errors may exist.

The writer maintains reasonable control of complete sentences and subject-verb agreement; may contain lapses in punctuation, diction, or syntax, but generally the writing is clear.

The writer generally conveys his or her ideas, but may be less consistent in maintaining complete sentences; writer lacks control in subject-verb agreement.
