Thorough understanding and use of color: each rendering has a completely different color combination and use of value.
Satisfactoy

Average understanding and use of colors. Colors are mostly monochromatic and typical. No experimentation.
Needs improvement

Partial understanding and use of colors. Student used similar combinations of color throughout each work. No distinction in mood or tone.
Use of materials

Excellent

The artist found materials that would render color and used them to their maximum potential. They mixed colors in order to create more complex colors.
Satisfactoy

The artist used pre-mixed colors and did not attempt to create shades and tints of colors.
Needs improvement

The artist simply colored the work with basic colors that appear on the objects. No effort was made to introduce new combinations of color.
Quality Work

Excellent

Outstanding effort and neatness. It is evident that the student took a great deal of though and effort in capturing the form they were painting/coloring etc.

Average effort and neatness. The form was captured, however the art was not developed beyond basic primary and secondary color combinations.
