Basic Position and Bow Hold
	Fair 15 pts	Good 24 pts	Excellent 33 pts
open strings	Fair Instrument is out of position. Bow hold has significant issues. Can only name one string	Good Instrument position is good. Bow hold has some issues - flat thumb or pinky. Bow might be pulling crooked. Able to identify three of four strings	Excellent Instrument is in good basic position. Bow hold has perfect form or very close. Bow pull is smooth and straight Can identify all 4 strings correctly.
D scale	Fair Only portion of scale is present. Half scale instead of full scale. Fingering is mixed up.	Good Scale is recognizable. Mostly correct fingering. Intonation is good.	Excellent Correct pitches and fingering both ascending and descending.
Overall position	Fair Position issues in both hands. Still able to produce a reasonable sound	Good One hand is good, but issues in the other.	Excellent Solid left hand position. Good bow hold.
