plan concept

Accomplished 4

Student will be able to create a concept through preliminary planning. Included in the concept was a detailed finial drawing (all design patterns and colors), font ideas and then final font selection, 3D model of letter design (measurements indicated and ability to free-stand) and color palette
Skilled 3

Student will be able to create a concept through preliminary planning. Included in the concept was a detailed finial drawing (most design patterns and colors), font ideas and then final font selection, 3D model of letter design (measurements indicated (but may have needed modified) and ability to free-stand) and most color palette indicated
Emerging 2

Student will be able to create a concept through preliminary planning. Included in the concept was a detailed finial drawing, final font selection, 3D model of letter design (measurements indicated and ability to free-stand) and color palette started
Limited 1

Student will be able to create a limit concept plan that is a path but far from a step by step: major areas of planning are missing- vision is incomplete
design

Accomplished 4

Student will be able to research and select a challenging font that represents their personal style, draw the font style in a 3D format and indicate all measurements accurately for construction
Skilled 3

Student will be able to research and select a harder font that represents their personal style, draw the font style in a 3D format and indicate most measurements for accuracy for construction
Emerging 2

Student will be able to research and select a font that represents their personal style, draw the font style in a 3D format and measure for accuracy
Limited 1

Student will be able to select a font style, but chose ease over personal style. OR Measurements may be off and hinder build
construction

Accomplished 4

Student will be able to pull from previous knowledge to build their font in a 3D format using precise measuring so all edges align without gaps and is able to stand on its own. Paper Mache is smooth without gaps or bubbles; at least 4 layers have been used.
Skilled 3

Student will be able to pull from previous knowledge to build their font in a 3D format using accurate measuring so all edges align without gaps and is able to stand on its own. Paper Mache is smooth without gaps or bubbles; at least 3 layers have been used.
Emerging 2

Student will be able to pull from previous knowledge to build their font in a 3D format using true measurements so the majority of edges align with minimum gaps and is able to stand on its own. Paper Mache is smooth without large or obvious gaps or bubbles; at least 3 layers have been used.
Limited 1

Student will be able to use previous knowledge to build their letter so that is able to stand (may lean but is standing). The edges are somewhat aligned but gaps may be an issue, as well as paper mache being too thin or have massive gaps/bubbling
Oazacan patterns

Accomplished 4

Student will be able to pull from previous knowledge to create distinct design patterns that have an Oaxacan influence- bright colors, scenes and/or implied texture. Color theory mastery is evident in the color selections used throughout. ALL SIDES ARE COVERED
Skilled 3

Student will be able to pull from previous knowledge to create unique design patterns that have an Oaxacan influence- bright colors, scenes and/or implied texture. Skilled use of Color theory is evident in the color selections used throughout. ALL SIDES ARE COVERED
Emerging 2

Student will be able to pull from previous knowledge to create design patterns that have an Oaxacan influence- bright colors, scenes and/or implied texture. Color theory understanding is evident in the color selections used. Most of the sculpture is covered
Limited 1

Student will be able to use previous knowledge of color theory and patterns to create an Oaxacan influenced painting on the sculpture. One or more sides where left uncovered, colors became muddy AND/OR patterns are too similar and in-distinctive
Craftsmanship

Accomplished 4

Students will be able to create a finish project that is blemish free: no drips, smudges, runs, etc. The final product is of the highest quality and shows care and pride of build. Edges are clean and clear coat is applied neatly. Great care has gone into the final presentation of the project
Skilled 3

Students will be able to create a finish project that is mostly blemish free: few drips, smudges, runs, etc. The final product is of the high quality and shows care and pride of build. Edges are clean and clear coat is applied neatly. Care has gone into the final presentation of the project and any imperfections do not interfere with overall presentation
Emerging 2

Student will be able to create a finished project that is mainly blemish free, but some areas may have benefited from more care: blemishes look messy or unfinished. Clear coat applied but may have missed spots so shine is not consistent. Overall project is nicely finished but has room for improvement
Limited 1

Student will be able to create a finished product but has major issues with the finish work: very messy or unfinished. Blemishes interfere with the view of the overall project.
