Investigation Expectation
	Beginner 1 pts	Approaching 2 pts	Meeting 3 pts	Exceeding 4 pts
Particpation	Beginner Does not participate in any aspect of group work.	Approaching Takes on one job with poor attitude or after having to talk with teacher	Meeting Takes charge of at least one job for the group.	Exceeding Takes charge of their assigned job and helps other group members fulfill their jobs.
Journal Entries	Beginner Have an empty journal entry or a diagram with no labels/description	Approaching a journal entry with a diagram and no labels or sentences describing their observation	Meeting Have a journal entry with a diagram and labels showing what they saw	Exceeding Has a journal entry with diagram, labels and description of their observations in the form of sentences.
Conceptual Understanding	Beginner Shows no understanding of concept	Approaching Understands Concepts	Meeting Understands Concepts and relates to its effects Example: How pushes and pulls affect the motion of objects	Exceeding Understands Concepts, relates to its effects and also able to use the vocabulary to describe it pushes and pulls affects the motion of objects and can use vocabulary to explain how/why.
