Class Discussion Leader

Lead a discussion in class that focuses on answering the week's discussion question. Discussion questions are based on the past week's readings. The student is to lead a portion of the class time.

Sources and events	Excellent 100% Sources are reputable, stories are current, relevant and student is prepared to lead the discussion.	Proficient 80% Sources are average, stories somewhat pertinent. Came to class with topics but with little additional preparation needed to lead the discussion.	Below Standard 60% Sources are poor, stories not pertinent, unable to lead discussion.
Discussion and Engagement	Excellent 100% Did a great job of engaging fellow students. Kept the discussion on track by making connections to prior discussions, articles, etc.	Proficient 80% Did a good job of engaging fellow students. Did not make many connections to past discussions/texts.	Below Standard 60% Weak engagement of classmates, no real connections to past material.
Summarizing and Concluding	Excellent 100% Helped the class see the logical conclusions of their discussion. Summarized the main points and of the class discussion, highlighting connections.	Proficient 80% Made some appropriate concluding remarks. Somewhat weak at summarizing the discussion.	Below Standard 60% Failed to close the discussion with a summary or concluding remarks.
