Music Assessment
	F=Poor Significant problems with skills; daily practice and private lessons may be a solution. 1 pts	D-Fair Skills need significant work; more consistent practice time is needed at home. 2 pts	C=Good No more than 3~5 errors, but skills need refinement; pay closer attention to details while practicing. 3 pts	B=Very Good No more than 3 errors or minor irregularities; practice performing musical material at home. 4 pts	A=Excellent No errors or irregularities; continue performing musical material at home. 5 pts
Articulation	F=Poor No real attempt at articulation is being made.	D-Fair Difficulty with tonguing slurring patterns and/or accents.	C=Good Student usually follows the articulation marked but there are frequent or repeated small errors.	B=Very Good Almost all articulation patterns are correct with only an occasional small error.	A=Excellent All articulation patterns are performed correctly.
Pitch Accuracy	F=Poor No recognizable tune is present.	D-Fair Many notes are incorrect <BR> - student seems unfamiliar with the tune.<BR> <BR>Chorus Only<BR> (6 or more mistakes)	C=Good Shows a good feel for the notes in the piece but there are frequent or repeated small mistakes <BR> in pitch.<BR>Chorus Only<BR> (4-5 mistakes)	B=Very Good Mostly correct with a few errors in pitch or rhythm.<BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>Chorus Only<BR> (2-3 mistakes)	A=Excellent Pitches are correct and has a quality sound for that instrument.<BR> <BR> <BR>Chrous Only<BR> (1 mistake or less)
Tone Quality	F=Poor Sound is totally lacking in quality due to a poorly formed or weak embouchure or breath support.	D-Fair Limited projection - tone is poor or range is limited due to the need for a stronger embouchure or breath support.	C=Good Fair use of projection and fullness of tone. There may be room for improvement in:<BR> 1. posture<BR> 2. embouchure <BR> 3. breath support	B=Very Good Considerable use of projection and fullness of tone but still somewhat short of a mature sound.	A=Excellent Tone is full and well projected. A truly characteristic sound for the instrument.
Accurate Rhythm	F=Poor No evidence of steady pulse	D-Fair Pulse is unstable with major rhythmic errors.	C=Good Pulse is fairly steady but there are frequent or repeated small rhythmic errors.	B=Very Good Steady pulse with few rhythmic errors.	A=Excellent Steady pulse with accurate rhythms at all times.
Musicality	F=Poor Student Does not give attention to dynamics, tempo or style indications.	D-Fair Rarely uses dynamics and/or follows indications of tempo or style.	C=Good Use of dynamics is narrow and/or playing is inconsistent in tempo or style.	B=Very Good Student displays ability to play with correct dynamics, phrasing & tempo with only minor errors.	A=Excellent Student consistently plays with appropriate dynamics, phrasing & tempo.
