Collecting Data	Beginning The group did not stay on task and their data was not very accurate.	Progressing The group collected data but it wasn't always as accurate and it could have been.	Achieved The group collected data and crosschecked to see if it was correct.
Displaying Data	Beginning Data was shown in tally form but not displayed in a graph or chart form.	Progressing Data was shown as a tally a.d then as a simple graph.Dot stem leaf bar etc.	Achieved Data was shown as a tally and then used on a spreadsheet to produce an Excel graph.
Making inferences	Beginning Data was not used to make any predictions or generalisations	Progressing Data was referred to and inferences were made in a general way.	Achieved Data was referred to and inferences were made with supporting statistical facts/graphed and using maths language.
Appropriateness of methods	Beginning The students were unable to defiine the task and choose appropriate methods.	Progressing The students defined the task but needed some assistance in choosing methods	Achieved The children completed the tasks logically and sequentially with full understanding of what was required by the task and the methods most appropriate.
